5-S and KAIZEN
5-S is a workplace management philosophy originated and widely practiced by organizations in Japan and now in the whole world. Many obvious problems in an organization cannot be clearly seen when the work place is unorganized. 5-S focuses on cleaning and organizing the workplace to easily uncover problems and making them apparently visible to initiate improvements. Properly implemented 5-S improves employee’s morale and pride in workmanship.
5-S is a stepping stone of many other improvement methodologies also e.g. TPM

Contrary to innovation, which brings dramatic and radical but not regular improvements, kaizen focuses on involving everyone to challenge the status quo and make it better than before. The principle behind is that "a very large number of small improvements are more effective in an organizational environment than a few improvements of large value.
Kaizen requires no or little investment and can be used in any function or organization.
