ISO 14001:2015 System
In the latest version, ISO has retained the PDCA focus but has significantly changed the requirements and clause structure. The new standard is equally useful to manufacturing and service organizations and meets requirements of organizations from very small to very large set-ups.
Very small organizations will benefit from significant reduction in documentation requirement. SME (small and medium enterprises) and Large set-ups will benefit hugely from Risk & Opportunity framework presented in the 2015 revision. New requirements such as Planning for Risks and Opportunities, Knowledge Management, Understanding the Needs and Expectations of Interested Parties will allow organizations to reach perfection or near perfection levels. This new version will significantly improve integration with other management system standards such as ISO 9001.

ISO 14000 is a family of standards related to environment management system. ISO 14001 is the certification standard of ISO 14000 series. Just like ISO 9000 series, ISO 14000 is also a product of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). ISO 14000 is not an enhancement of ISO 9000, as some people believe. These are two different standards aimed at two different aspects of business. The standard can help all types of organizations including green technology companies, service sector units, production units with heavy emissions, NGOs etc. |
